May perform one or more of the following:

Develop and maintain the strategy of the future direction of SDU IT infrastructure.
*
Develop plans for implementation of new IT projects; provide well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability.
*
Responsible for local site physical and logical security. Develop, implement and assure compliance with current security best practices. Act as ILSDU Security Coordinator.
*
Manage relationships with IT-related vendors and subcontractors. Assuring those vendors and subcontractors provide the level of support and functionality contracted for. Also managing various implementations and projects that arise and involve those IT-related vendors and subcontractors.
*
Coach and direct network staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with departmental, project, and contract goals and objectives.
*
Review, on a continual basis, IT department procedures, staffing and equipment for maximum efficiency while controlling costs.
*
Direct the department's personnel administration activities including job assignment, training, performance evaluation, and compensation review.
*
Participates in daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly planning process as appropriate.
*
Maintain awareness of changing trends and regulations that might affect the department and act on as required.
*
Develop and maintain a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan for the Illinois State Disbursement Unit.
*
Manage the change control process for the project and participate on the change control board. Coordinate testing of planned code changes. Coordinate deployment of approved code changes.
*
Maintain project records in support of annual audits and compliance surveys
*
Conduct team meetings, providing guidance and direction in accordance with overall strategy.
*
Ensure that IT department utilizes technology to provide SDU staff with a fast, accurate, and secure method to access information in order that clients can be serviced in a highly efficient and effective manner. Ensure support is provided to ''internal'' staff in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience and requirements
* Bachelor's or graduate degree in Information Technology management.
*
Five years experience in IT Management.
*
Mid-level managerial experience, as well as front-line supervisory skills.
*
Familiarity with high-volume payment processing technology and business practices.
*
Proficient in database management and project management software.
*
Strong oral and written communication skills and analytical skills.
