Position Information Request/Posting Number 0702993 Classification Title Information Technology Support Associate Working Title Service Desk Associate Job Class # 005032 Type of Position Civil Service Percent Appointment: 1-100 (For Student Employment and Graduate Assistant Only; state hours per week) 100%/full-time Department Enterprise Systems Support - 341 General Summary This position will provide superior customer support for systems utilized by the entire campus. Build and maintain appropriate levels of familiarity and skill with identified enterprise applications in order to provide immediate support and long term retention (knowledge base). The incumbent will learn, utilize, and continuously improve the Altiris system used by the department for Information Technology Infrastructure Library ( ITIL) functions (incident, change, problem, knowledge, and communication management). This position will perform system administrator tasks for service desk software such as; edits to customer notification and survey templates, editing and monitoring service calendar events and trends and making adjustments to complex routing and escalation settings. Serves as a communications channel between all departments related to identified enterprise applications. Knowledge Required: ermediate to advanced knowledge of mainstream applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel iliarity with ITIL standards, service desk systems, troubleshooting, and database concepts ined phone etiquette and customer service practices ic organizational skills standing oral and written communication skills Required Qualifications 1. Bachelors degree 2. Two years or more from the following categories: a) 1 year experience in a service desk role b) 1 year experience or certification in server/system administration c) 1 year experience or degree in process analysis/design d) 1 year experience or degree in project management e) 1 year experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession not listed above 3. This is a security sensitive position. Comprehensive criminal background investigations will be conducted.i Desired Qualifications: 1. Customer service experience 2.
