Installation Technician - Albuquerque, NM
Title: Installation Technician - Albuquerque, NM Location: NM-Albuquerque Honeywell has an excellent opportunity for an Installation Technician ! As an Installation Technician you will install, maintain and repair commercial DDC, control, fire alarm, HVAC, security and access control in a commercial, educational, construction and or retrofit environment. The Technician will be expected to perform testing and start-up support functions across a wide range of electronic and electro-mechanical systems, which will include proprietary software packages. This position is based in Albuquerque, NM and will require travel throughout the service area (Southern Colorado and Central/Northern New Mexico).

HBS installs and maintains the systems to help keep buildings and facilities safe, secure, comfortable and cost-efficient, and is a leading provider of energy efficiency solutions worldwide. HBS specializes in service of critical building systems, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), building automation, fire, security and energy management.
Tasks and Responsibilities: - Provide customer service by building and maintain positive relationships with customers and other technicians. - Perform or assist with engineering, planning, scheduling, and installation of simple to complex systems or modifications to existing systems. May plan, schedule and lay out complex electrical equipment installations. - Using technical documents and construction drawings will review system documentation, scope of work, and installation requirements with contractors. - Document as-built site conditions and convey to engineering team. - Be responsible for commissioning start-up and checkout of systems using the software provided by engineering for large jobs (long cycle time) or software possibly written by themselves in small jobs (short cycle time jobs). - Download software to controllers. - Perform point-to-point checkouts to insure connectivity between field devices and controllers. - Repair minor to complex components to verify that all equipment is running and controlling to the equipment maximum efficiency. - Plan and execute customer training session at completion of project. - The preceding tasks may apply to HVAC, Fire and Security systems.
Qualified applicants must be willing to: - Travel throughout the service area, including overnight travel. - Work with and without direct supervision. - Able to work flexible hours to accommodate to the client needs. Basic Qualifications: * 1 year field experience in Building Trades such as: HVAC, Refrigeration, Fire, Security Controls, Electrician or related experience. * High school diploma or GED. * Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications: * Associates degree in a technical discipline. * Technical knowledge of HVAC, Direct Digital Controls Systems. * In-depth knowledge of HVAC controls, plan, specifications, contracting relationships. * Fire alarms, smoke control and security systems. * NICET certification or working towards certification. * Proven technical leadership. * Ability to provide technical guidance and support on Honeywell products and services with minimal supervision. * Strong organization, time management, communication and computer skills. * DDC controls experience with detailed knowledge of Lon, Bacnet, Tridium R2, AX * Experience with systems that involve advanced solutions such as EBI, Tridium, Echelon, Lonmark, ModBus, Bacnet or other open technologies for Building automation/integration solutions. * Advanced experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
