Location and teamDigital Inspections, a KEMA Business, headquartered in Corvallis, Oregon, is a technical and innovation leader in electric utility asset health maintenance management systems. Our clients are electric utilities. Digital Inspections specializes in utility maintenance management, primarily through the sales and service of the CASCADE ™ Utility Asset Health Maintenance Management & Inspection System, and an expanding portfolio of products and services to serve the electric utility industry.
Digital Inspections is seeking an experienced software support professional who loves working with data and databases to provide back-end integration support to our customers. This position is based in Corvallis, Oregon. Although some programming skills are preferred for this position, this is not a software development opportunity; this position does not offer a path to a software development role within the organization.
Tasks may include
• Working closely with the client to analyze business needs and requirements for integration project
• Creating specification documents
• Creating detailed specification and design documentation
• Developing integrations between CASCADE and third party products
• Upgrading existing integrations to accompany customer upgrades
• Developing test plans and use cases, primarily using XML scripting, SQL, and web services
• Supporting customers via phone and email; effectively troubleshooting customer issues while maintaining the highest level of professionalism
What we're asking
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years experience in a professional software customer support environment
• Proficiency in SQL programming (ability to manually create SQL statements to query/manipulate data and manage database objects)
• Knowledge of relational database design principles
• Intimate understanding of system integration at both the application and data level
• XML development and scripting experience
• Experience writing reports, using Infomaker, Crystal or similar tools
• Ability to troubleshoot and find/recommend solutions to technical problems
• Working knowledge of user-defined database functions, stored procedures, and triggers preferred
• Experience working with more than one database platform (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase) preferred
• Knowledge of methods for moving data between databases and data files, and between databases preferred
• Knowledge of web service usage and methods preferred
• Experience with other programming tools (e.g., VBA, VB script, MS Visual Studio, Access) preferred
• Excellent organization and coordination skills
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Detail-oriented, positive, collaborative, team-oriented attitude
