Intelligence Analyst 5/Linguist

Northrop Grumman is seeking candidates with expertise and experience in high-quality translation, interpretation and other language related support skills, needed to fill customer's operational requirements. Candidate will possess native target language proficiency level for use in supporting national counter proliferation security missions through use of highly proficient listening, reading, transcribing, analysis, advising and writing skills. Candidate's job will not end with transcription, translation and interpretation, they must understand customer mission in order to properly analyze and identify key content to provide insight to assist in determining courses of action. Sound judgment required in order to accurately analyze and prioritize content by order of mission importance, recognizing mission critical information and reporting to customer as required. Able to review material, make accurate assessment and create gists and summaries that capture key elements, and create reports that will advise customer in making mission critical decisions. Must possess regional knowledge and apply that knowledge to analyze impact and importance of materials and information. Location will be in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Position may provide opportunity for domestic and foreign travel. THERE IS NO RELOCATION AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION.
Languages of interest: Russian, Arabic, Dari, Kurdish, Pashto, Mandarin Chinese, Somali, Yemeni-Arabic or Persian. Applicants will be subject to testing, by the government, for both target language and English proficiency levels.
Basic Qualifications: Language test scores of 4/4/4 (i.e., native ability) or higher in TARGET LANGUAGE listening/reading/speaking comprehension rating according to the ILR scale and as measured by the DLPT or comparable language test vehicle. Candidates must be able to write and speak in a clear and concise manner with excellent grammar and pronunciation in the target language and English. Candidates must possess technical computer information system skills, at a minimum, word processing and data entry (i.e., MS Office) to be used in conjunction with written translations.
Must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph . Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 14 years of experience, or an equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Must have previous experience as a professional Linguist/Intel Analyst. Knowledge of cultural regions, good interpersonal skills, and communication skills. Excellent oral and written English language skills required.
Preferred Qualifications: Subject matter expertise in technical, political, or social areas.
