INTERN - Software Engineer (IT) supporting Electronics manufacturing and Board-Test Solutions 16 Month Internship
Students who excel in this position enjoy working on the hardware-software boundary, and are driven by complex problem solving in a fast-paced environment. We have a unique situation where our engineering team developing product test solutions also has an IT group developing IT solutions around Electronics manufacturing and test. You should be familiar with most standard operating systems (server and client) along with Databases and web dev't. You will be enrolled in an Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Program
Activities - Test Development:
Activities but not limited to, the following: * Develop IT solutions (hardware and software) to capture data, report results, connect multiple systems, user interfaces, etc. * Work with highly experienced engineering team to develop software & hardware, procure HW, integrate, qualify and get installed to support manufacturing test. * Work with highly experienced engineering team to integrate tools developed by other groups/customers. * Web development * Support servers, clients and thin clients used in Manufacturing Test. * Improving quality and efficiency of the tools supporting manufacturing test process; process optimization Skills that would be beneficial: * Visual Studio 2008 Express * .NET (ASP, C#) * HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, PHP * Perl * Access DB, Oracle, MySQL * Windows 2003 Server Active Directory * General IT knowledge including good PC skills (basic debugging) Physical Demands: Duties of this position are varied and will include: * Lab work including assembling systems * a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments. * may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data * Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc). * Basic manufacturing system knowledge.
