Intern - Test Engineering Development Engineer Associate 16 Month Internship
Students who excel in this position enjoy working on the hardware-software boundary, and are driven by complex problem solving in a fast-paced environment. You should be familiar with most electronic technologies and be able to work with products for the computing, data networking, consumer and communication markets. You will be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering Program.
Activities - Test Development:
Activities but not limited to, the following: * Develop test solutions (hardware and software) to control product hardware, automated test equipment, write diagnostics, user interfaces, etc. * Work with highly experienced engineering team to review designs (for testability), develop software & hardware, procure HW, integrate, qualify and get installed to support manufacturing test of electronics (in many global sites). * Design of experiments, tools, and fixtures * Support the development and updating of assembly work instructions * Work with customer to optimize design for low cost & high yield * Improving quality and efficiency of the manufacturing test process; process optimization

Skills that would be beneficial: * Great hands on electronics knowledge. * Mechanical aptitude. Ability to build/use tools and troubleshoot. * Software skills in Labview, C-Sharp, scripting (various) * Troubleshooting skills. Methodical approach to finding/fixing * Computing skills - HW and SW (windows, office) * Data analysis. Statistics * Knowledge of Power systems and electronics. * Soldering experience an asset.
Physical Demands: Duties of this position are varied and will include: * Lab work including assembling test fixtures, racks of instruments, running cables. * a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments. * may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data * Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc). * Basic manufacturing system knowledge.
Experience:No formal experience is required.
Education:University or College program in progress.
