The IP Transaction Attorney should understand software and technical practices and principles and be able to apply his or her knowledge of relevant industry trends and resulting issues to day-to-day business planning. The IP Transaction Attorney will be a consensus-builder and capable of utilizing his/her strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with colleagues and executive management. Furthermore, the IP Attorney will demonstrate the ability to generate creative solutions to complex problems taking a pragmatic approach to balancing risks and business interests, along with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and legal professionals and to clearly and concisely communicate issues to executives. This job will require a demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. .A minimum of 8 years of work experience in IP, including significant experience in IP litigation and IP licensing. .The IP Counsel should be able to manage projects in a complex organizational environment with virtual teams of high-level professional and will need to apply strong negotiation skills. The IP Attorney may be required to travel internationally. .Knowledge of software technology and software industry a plus. .Engineering/business work experience in software or other high-technology industry preferred. .A demonstrated ability to process and synthesize information and an ability to effectively and creatively identify legal solutions to solve a complex business problem and present the information in a concise manner. .Knowledge and understanding of IP strategy/tactics in litigation, licensing, and procurement. .JD from an ABA accredited law school, and outstanding academic credentials. .Registered patent attorney a plus. .Highly developed written and oral communication, presentation, and people skills.
