IT Analyst III Duration: 4-6 months Location: San Diego, CA Pay rate: $40/hr
SUMMARY The IT Analyst III's role is to provide Tier 3 and above support and maintenance within the organization's computing environment. Responsible for all technologies related to the configuration, installation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems. Ensures that daily administration of servers and critical systems occurs while providing technical assistance and consulting to IT staff. Monitors and troubleshoots the environment for problems. Installs software upgrades when required. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all infrastructure related hardware and equipment to ensure optimal performance. The IT Analyst III is responsible for the stable operation of the in-house computer environment.
REQUIREMENTS/ RESPONSIBILITIES: • Minimum 3 years of experience in VMWare. • Minimum 8 years of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Operating systems • Responsible for ensuring the daily administration of servers and networked systems, complex configuration, installation, and maintenance of: operating systems/upgrades, software, third-party applications, and peripheral equipment. Diagnoses complex hardware and software problems. Manages and recommends infrastructure related system configuration changes and consults on system purchase/retirement issues. • Examines system log and error files. Uses standard OS tools to examine system load and performance. • Manages infrastructure system configuration files, file system and disks. • Functions as liaison with systems vendor. Coordinates work associated with vendor's maintenance agreement obligations. Tracks design and operational problems to be corrected by vendor. • Analyzes and optimizes networked, computing systems configuration. Identifies and addresses additional user requirements or applications/network limitations. • Writes and develops tools to create maintenance and tracking logs. • Determines feasibility of new operating systems and system software upgrades with consideration of application and hardware requirements. • Collaborate with IT department members to ensure efficient operation of the ABH's Desktop computing environment. • Responsible for ABH's IT Disaster Recovery capabilities. • Provide on-call availability. • Manage corporate VoIP phone system between geographically diverse sites. • Demonstrated understanding of routing and switching technologies. • Demonstrated experience with firewalls and IDS (Cisco, Sonicwall). • SAN and NAS experience with EMC preferred.
