Position Overview / Vue d'ensemble du poste  
Our Edmonton client requires a responsible, self-motivated IT Analyst to be based in Edmonton, Alberta. This position reports to the Team Lead, Server and Desktop Services, and as part of the team, will be responsible for support and maintenance of Windows server infrastructure environment and associated services. This role will share primary responsibility for maintaining, supporting and deploying the Microsoft Exchange infrastructure, in addition to other server support activities. The environment is fast paced and technically challenging.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
As part of the Server and Desktop Services team some of your main responsibilities will include:
* Primary support for Microsoft Exchange and associated technologies;
* Exchange infrastructure backup, maintenance plans and activities;
* BES and messaging remote access configuration and support;
* Technical support for server hardware, software and applications;
* Install and maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software;
* Server infrastructure maintenance plans and activities;
* Plan for software and hardware upgrades;
* Plan for capacity and disaster recovery;
* Develop and maintain documentation;
* Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through trouble shooting and call resolution of tickets escalated to Tier 2/3.

* Experience with Lotus Notes to Exchange migrations would be an asset.
* Experience with server and application virtualization would be an asset.
* Experience with Infrastructure Management technologies (System Center Suite) would be an asset.
 
Qualfications
 
* 5+ years relevant experience in a large I.T. Environment.
* University degree or diploma in computer science.
* MCSE or MCSA Certification.
* Expert knowledge in Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
