Experience: IT Asset Manager The role of the IT Asset Manager is to oversee the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software and/or hardware licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The IT Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking and control of company assets throughout the asset lifecycle. Duties and Responsibilities: - Develops and maintains processes for managing and tracking the full IT asset, license, and maintenance life cycle from procurement to retirement - Defines, maintains, and updates policies and procedures for effective asset lifecycle management (acquisition, deployment, utilization, de-installation and reallocation) of IT assets - Tracks and maintains an accurate inventory of all assets throughout the lifecycle. Assets include but not limited to: o copies of software licenses, warranties, and maintenance agreements o all software and hardware serial numbers, asset tags, locations, etc. o all costs associated with asset and maintenance/support - Reconciles, audits and validates licenses maintenance contracts against installed asset base - Maintains an understanding of vendor master service agreements to ensure compliance and the most cost effective use of assets - Researches industry best practices and compare against organization’s practices in order to establish benchmarks for managing IT assets o Identifies opportunities to optimize unused or partially used IT assets to achieve full efficiency and ROI from company assets - Works closely with IT Finance, IT Architecture Group, Technology Domain Managers and Procurement to: o ensure asset acquisition, tracking, utilization, and de-installation (reclamation) processes are known and complied with o establish process interfaces that support budgeting process, RFI/RFPs, capital expense requests, compliance to standards, input from projects, etc. - Works closely with IT Risk and Compliance to support audit processes - Defines metrics, gathers data, and reports effectiveness of IT asset management processes - Interacts with Senior Management and/or VP to share asset utilization and cost savings - Identifying and act upon cost reductions opportunities - Facilitate equipment delivery, returns, relocations and transfers - Define and maintain an Asset Disposal Program Experience - Minimum of 5 years of contract management - Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services. - Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. - Superb inventory and cost-management skills. - Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. - Can conform to shifting priorities. - Persuasive, encouraging, and diplomatic. - Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of people. - Strong written and oral communication skills.
