Summary of Position: This position works with both IT and business resources to assess, implement, and support technology solutions and strategies, based on the business process needs of customers and existing systems and infrastructure. This person should be knowledgeable in the area of software and systems implementation in order to understand, propose, and help implement new business processes and optimize existing processes through enabling technology. This person will serve as a ?business liaison? for one or more functional areas in the company, with emphasis on active customer relationship management.
This person will be expected to develop business requirements, perform analysis, understand business practices and approaches, recommend business process changes, understand how to integrate systems and business processes, and drive business needs into technology initiatives. In addition, you will support system selection processes; understand business organization, politics and culture; proactively engage ?internal? customers; manage change in the business resulting from IT initiatives; work across cross-functional teams; perform systems testing; help business customers develop business processes and procedures, and assist in the development and delivery of training; provide day to day business application support by coordinating troubleshooting activities, development remediation plans, and overseeing the final resolution of issues. DESCRIPTION: * For one or more business functions (e.g. Finance, HR, Sales, Customer Care, etc), act as an IT business liaison across end-to-end business application lifecycle: concept inception; vendor selection & evaluation; business case development; solution implementation; solution support; and application retirement / replacement. * Support vendor evaluation and selection processes for business applications through a formal methodology. * On solution implementation projects, responsibilities will include: facilitation of business process design / re-engineering; development of business/technical requirements; test planning; test execution; training; definition of project tasks and schedule related to these responsibilities and at times, project management; identify and help to resolve risks / issues in a timely manner. * Facilitate the development of production support plans for new applications. Activities include: transition of systems solution to Global Service Desk for Tier 1 & 2 support; defining Tier 3 escalation procedures; troubleshooting of application issues; monitoring application SLAs; and proactively partnering with business and technical teams to provide ongoing support and systems / process improvements. * Provide thought leadership to other team members, both technical and business Education & Experience: * BA / BS, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent experience. * Consulting experience or background preferred * 3-5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst Technical Knowledge & Skills * Experience in the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with understanding of a variety of technologies and platforms. * Experience with implementation / support of on-premise and Software as a Service business applications * Must be able to translate business requirements into well formed technical and system requirements * Experience with modeling business, data flow and system processes. * Should be familiar with working with data sets (data analysis and data mapping) and Business Intelligence tools Customer Management Skills * Excellent communication (oral and written), relationship building, influence and negotiation skills with both technical and business resources. * Experience working with variety of roles / levels from junior developers to executives. * Deltek is a fast-paced environment; the ability to multitask on different projects concurrently and react deftly to movements in the business is critical * Experience in coordinating multiple priorities, managing conflicts where needed * Ability to identify and drive needed change from process / solution perspective, both how IT does its work as well as within the business functions
