The Manager of Windows Server Infrastructure directs management and technical leadership support for an engineering team responsible for the 24x7 mission critical Windows server and infrastructure environment consisting of 600 servers and the following systems and technologies: Windows Server 2008/2003/2000/NT, Global Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, Citrix, VMware, VDI, SQL Server, BackupExec, GoogleMini, COTS applications and other related technologies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
IT Management and leadership support for an engineering team responsible for a 24x7 mission critical Windows server and infrastructure environment consisting of 600 servers and the following systems and technologies: Windows Server 2008/2003/2000/NT, Global Active Directory / Group Policy, IIS, Citrix, VMware, VDI, SQL Server, BackupExec, GoogleMini, COTS applications and other related technologies.
Interact with peers globally to implement global standards, tools and best practices
Management of staff including hiring, performance reviews, salary administration, career and training development, employee motivation, and team building
Coordination and management for systems configuration, maintenance, installs, upgrades, capacity planning
Ensures systems high availability and data protection through the use of internal and external resources. This includes ensuring all Windows Server, Active Directory and supported applications security issues are remediated in a timely fashion.
Business continuity planning and testing
Operational / disaster recovery planning and testing
Team budget review and management responsibilities
Vendor management and selection
Contractual review and negotiations
24X7 On-call management & escalation support
Ability to travel to Domestic and international locations when required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 years related IT management experience managing a Windows Server environment in a fast paced services industry environment of 5000+ users - Knowledge of a variety of technology disciplines, including: network engineering, distributed computing, information security technologies, SAN, storage, backup, capacity & performance testing, LDAP, DNS, and SMTP - Candidate should have strong leadership skills and abilities - Successful candidate must have the ability to closely interact with and influence all levels of management, different business units to gather and implement business requirements. Demonstrated experience with influencing senior management, business and technology groups - Should be an innovative thinker who can articulate, define strategic vision and consistently drive new technologies that could support business direction and needs - Knowledge of project planning methodologies, work delegation, scheduling, prioritization & status reporting. Must have the ability to multi-task and drive several projects at once - Experience in managing a highly available production environment, including assessing and minimizing risk for change activity - Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Technology or Communications - Has worked in a related field on large, complex projects as an engineer or analyst - Prior project experience managing a large, complex server deployment and/or migration - Experience with supporting a global ERP implementation and environment - Budget planning experience and contract negotiation skills ##
