IT Security Administrator
Job Description:The purpose for this position is to be a subject matter expert for Cyber Security for Y-12 Federal Credit Union.
Duties include the following:
- Network security components are monitored, tested and upgraded (e g, firewall, DMZ, ASA etc.) with recommendations for long range security plans communicated to appropriate parties in a timely and effective manner. Interface with Enterprise Risk Manager to ensure that Cyber risk is integral to the overall risk management plan.
- Configure, support and evaluate security tools, and maintains security levels of the network by adhering to strict Information Security Policies and industries best practices while keeping up to date with appropriate patches/service updates.
- Documents standards, protocols and procedures for IT deployments and updates Information Security Policies and performs regularly scheduled security reviews (e.g. Technology and Operations). Participates in designing IT Security strategy and assist with projects requiring security reviews.
- Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and trouble calls while providing on call support and respond to outages during off duty hours; Process trouble tickets using IT's Done software internal log; Provide support to the IT Support and Operations staff as required.
- Participate and lead in the execution of the Security strategy, IT Risk assessments, Audits and Security Policy development objectives. Stay abreast of latest threats and mitigation strategy. Participate in local and national forums on Cyber Security.
- Disruption, outages, security violations and attacks of network services are monitored, documented and remediated within the parameters of stated policy, best practices and the Incident Response Program.
- Virus protection and content filtering are kept up to date using established tools and reporting maintained at a granular level.
- Utilize IPSEC VPNs and maintain a corporate LAN/WAN infrastructure, perimeter security and wide area network.
- Develop and supervise IT and systems security measures within the company; secure business applications to reduce potential data loss; develop business standards for information security; abide by third party established regulations where applicable.
- Design and implement an active directory based security model which will act as the root authority for most authenticated applications.
- Troubleshoot and identify possible security threats; anticipate hardware/software degradation issues.
- Research and recommend new or improved security products, procedures, and corporate security policy, with a focus on continued process improvement. Write new policies as needed and train affected employees.
- Collaborate with divisional resources to ensure that the company's IT standards are achieved.
- Work requires weekend and/or evening work and some travel may be required.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A two year college degree or equivalent education and relevant progressive experience.
