Description:

Position Overview:

Under general supervision, provides technical support for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers and related software/hardware. Assignments involve moderately-complex problems requiring application of established techniques and procedures.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides analytical and in-person technical support for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related software/hardware.

Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems related to personal desktop computers. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up actions.

Screens, refers, and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers.

Provides phone support as required.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma and 2-4 years of related work experience (or an equivalent combination of work experience and education).

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

A working knowledge of Microsoft software applications and personal computer technology is required, as well as a general understanding of the MIS environment. Also requires a proven capability for analyzing and solving technical problems. Must be able to effectively communicate with users and team members on technical and non-technical subjects.
