If you have a background in Microsoft infrastructure and are interested in working in a fast-paced team environment, now is your chance. The PensionGold Retirement Solutions Group is seeking a Support Technician in Springfield, Illinois on its infrastructure team to work primarily with internal staff but will also interface and work with PensionGold clients.

The PensionGold Retirement Solutions Group has been the leading provider of pension administration software and retirement services since 1987. The current web-based version of PensionGold uses a service-oriented architecture and is developed with Microsoft .Net Framework Version 3.5 tools.

You will provide hardware and commodity software support as well as become proficient with supporting our business continuance planning (BCP) services that we provide to our clients. Responsibilities will include installing, configuring and supporting business applications such as PensionGold, imaging, and workflow in addition to supporting and maintaining the infrastructure utilized to operate internal and external environments. The PensionGold Retirement Solutions Group utilizes a wide range of technologies including: Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, TMG/ISA Server and virtual technologies from Microsoft and VMware.

You will be based at our headquarters in Springfield, Illinois. You may travel up to 10 percent of the time, mostly to client sites which could be located nationwide. The travel will consist of short stays at a client site during the week. The travel does not include extended or long term trips to the client. You will receive a base salary plus paid overtime.

Performance Objectives:
.Within first month, have a thorough understanding of the PensionGold infrastructure landscape and be supporting hardware and software for internal staff.
.Within first three months you will need to be able to demonstrate proficiency with the PensionGold BCP processes. This will include troubleshooting issues with the SQL backup/recovery processes, bringing an environment online for a mock/real event and exhibit expertise regarding the various types of client environments, where they are located and how they work.
.Within six months, demonstrate configuration and performance tuning proficiency of Windows Server 2008, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft ADAM, and Microsoft TMG/ISA.
.Within first year, demonstrate the understanding of the PensionGold application and what it takes to install and configure a working environment.
.Within the first year, obtain/maintain your Microsoft certification for Windows Server and workstation; upgrade if needed to latest equivalent.

Requirements:

Applicant Requirements:
.Must have at least three years' experience managing, supporting and maintaining information technology systems including: server operating systems, workstation operating systems, Microsoft SQL server, IIS and ISA.
.Must have at least two years application support experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008 including administration and maintenance.
.One year experience with Microsoft or VMware virtualization technologies.
.Must be able to lift and carry computer equipment weighing up to 34 pounds and to transport this equipment between buildings on a regular basis.
.One or more of the following certifications are preferred but not required: MCSE, MCSA, VCP, Security+, Network+, and A+
.You must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer. No visa sponsorships are available.

Organization Structure and Interfaces:
The PensionGold group has approximately 70 employees. A Vice President oversees the department. Managers for Implementations, Support and Product Development report to the Vice President and there are Team Leads that report to the Managers.

You will report directly to the Infrastructure and Technical Services Team Lead and be part of an infrastructure team. You will interact with members of your team, other PensionGold employees along with PensionGold clients.
