Role and Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Director of Technology and working in close coordination with the WAN Manager this new position will be responsible for implementing, administrating and maintaining application systems corporate wide. The Information Technology (IT) System Administrator will work within a team environment to facilitate user interface with the multiple software and hardware systems:
Under general supervision of Director of Technology, this position is being created to facilitate full life cycle management of new URC-CHS IT software systems.
Plan tasks, coordinate and implement new software
Validate results and usage related to the documented requirements
Manage ongoing maintenance, updates, service packs, upgrades
Support user education with documentation and training
Build servers with VM Ware technology including operating systems (Windows & Linux), software, patches and upgrades.
Deploy new and updated client applications to staff computers, at HQ and in Field Offices, with remote software management tool.
Manage security processes and procedures to protect local and field networks from vulnerabilities.
Support systematic operations of Active Directory, for HQ and Field Staff, integrated with Servers and VM Hosts.
Collaborates with appropriate team resources as required for projects and/or end user requests as needed.
Forecast and allocate resources to projects within budget requirements; license management, hardware expansions and related items.
Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware and software issues 24/7 via helpdesk requests.
Support system backups and recovery with i365 eVault and VM Ware.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or a related field, or the experiential equivalent of technical training and relevant work experience.
Minimum four years of hands on experience managing Microsoft Server (2003 & 2008), Microsoft Exchange 2007 and MS Office 2007 and supporting major systems running on servers. Must have experience working with Exchange 2010 and Office 2010 and be able to identify and resolve challenges in upgrading.
Minimum four years experience developing and managing VMWare (vSphere with vMotion) environment.
Required to have experience with software management tool for remote client installs and updates.
Must be able to demonstrate systemic administration of Active Directory and knowledge of best practice solutions for troubleshooting problems with hardware, software, and network operations.
Experience working with international offices for various IT functions, including tech support, development and procurement.
Must have a Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), IT Service Management (ITSM), Software programming, Project Management or other related to IT.
Should possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills in addition to in-depth
technical knowledge VMWare (ESXi)
Personal characteristics required: Systematic and professional approach to managing tasks, strong communications skills with a dedicated customer service orientation; self-starter and problem-solver with previous experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other technical staff, vendors and users.
Must be able to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively.
Ability to speak French would be a plus.
Occasional travel to Domestic and International worksites may also be required.
Position requires working outside normal business hours and may require more than 40 hours in a week.
