IT System Administrator/Engineer Tracking Code 2010065 Job Description BROAD FUNCTION: Ensures proper functioning of the organization's voice and data infrastructure, information technologies as well as implement upgrades as required. Assist business operations to fully utilize these technologies to improve efficiency while reducing operating costs. Oversee the helpdesk and infrastructure environment. Keeps computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform all activities in accordance with organizational policies and goals. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for all aspects of voice and data infrastructure, related equipment, maintenance and up keep as well as efficient performance to meet business objectives. * Manage and complete projects on time, within budget and with successful achievement of objectives. * Establish and publish department performance metrics. Establish and implement improvement plans as required. * Maintain a 5S IT work environment at all times. * Support remote sites and perform site audits as required. * Manage and perform activities to ensure a reliable and timely disaster recovery procedure. * Respond to network monitoring software alerts and resolve issues encountered on a timely basis. * Support all WAN and LAN related aspects. * Oversee help desk processes and ensure resources are used effectively to manage all service requests. Resolve issues for hardware and software. * Install, configure and maintain local and remote servers, server-based applications including engineering applications anti-virus software, automated client updates to operating systems, etc. * Serve as backup to Sr. Network Engineer. * Investigate new technologies, make recommendations and implement approved technologies. Must deliver creative solutions that meet the business requirements while minimizing cost. * Oversee and comply with all SOX and ITAR related procedures and audits. * Manage vendor relationships, software licensing, * Manage methodology and procedures for back-ups and data archiving as well recovery. * Participate in budget planning for department. * Work to develop customer relationships through collaboration, respect, professionalism, trust and integrity. * Listen to and understand customer requirements and take prompt, appropriate action that will exceed customer expectations. * Anticipate evolving customer technical and business needs and develop and/or execute the technology roadmap that exceeds customer expectations and requirements. * Perform all other related duties as assigned. Required Skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or MIS. Experience: Minimum of 6 years in a systems administration role. MCSE required.
Additional Requirements: Must be eligible to work on defense and satellite programs subject to ITAR Regulations. Therefore, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident ('Green Card'). Required Experience
* Hands on experience and intimate working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SAN storage, Backup Exec, information security technologies (antivirus, malware, spyware), data center and network infrastructure, Lotus Notes and blackberry. * Ability to multi-task, prioritize issues and provide timely resolution. * Able to work in a fast paced dynamic environment. * Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills to interface with system users and other department personnel. Maintain high level of confidentiality. * Ability to handle challenging, demanding and complex situations. * CCNA certification preferred. * Possess ability to supervise people directly or indirectly to accomplish goals. 3 years experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
