Kelly IT Resources has an immediate need for a 6 month contract Cognos Developer position located in Beaverton, OR for a local sportswear manufacturer.
Key responsibilities • Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical/ canonical and physical data model • Model transactional databases for high volume direct consumer applications • Define and design data integration interfaces • Work with database administrator to create physical database designs • Facilitate requirements elicitation and modeling sessions including use of interview, document analysis, workshops etc. • Collaborate with architect and technical lead on the solution design • Provide guidance and partner with project management, development and QA teams by applying knowledge of database design • Responsible for modeling of BI solutions including dimensional data marts and operational reporting databases • Assist with the development and enforcement of data modeling standards • Participate in data definition and data management reviews • Partner with QA in test planning activities, especially in data integration projects • Establish and maintain processes to support and grow data modeling practices at Nike
Requirements for the position include: • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent • 6 years' experience in Data Modeling • 3 years' additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree • Experience using CA Erwin or other similar modeling tool • Strong knowledge of Relational and Dimensional data modeling concepts • Strong Experience working on large volume databases, specifically Oracle 10g and 11g • Experience working in complex projects with multi-tier architecture. • Proficient in Data-Management concepts, practices and procedures • Working experience using reporting and ETL tools such as Cognos and Informatica • Strong SQL skills including DDL and DML. • PL/SQL experience preferred • Demonstrated ability to influence critical business outcomes in a matrix based, global environment • Experience in integrating through web services in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) highly preferred. • Experience, interest and adaptability to working in a Waterfall or Lean/Agile delivery environment. Strong preference for multiple years of SCRUM/XP development expertise. • Strong networking skills and ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals for a world-class global and regional marketing organization • Excellent communication skills in both formal and informal settings
