Contractor: SharePoint Migration C oordinator Location: Baytown Texas Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm Start Date: March 1, 2012 End Date: August 31, 2012 (tentative) Pay Rate: $25.50/hr.
Overview Duties include coordinating migration of existing web content into SharePoint utilizing best practices and other standards in site creation and support, and in the implementation and support of related tools and processes. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of SharePoint and demonstrated expertise in document migration and metadata tags.
Candidate will be responsible for customer interactions, understanding the client's business, and in designing and moving information into the new SharePoint environment. This position works very closely with the technology divisions - it is not an IT focused job. If you have a passion for helping users solve business issues with the SharePoint Platform, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities for the position include: • Facilitate close working relationships with our worldwide client base by conducting interviews to map client business needs to SharePoint functionality • Once implemented, supporting users of the systems through: • Authorship and instruction of tool training that propagates company-specific best practices • Promotion and facilitation of tool-specific user groups • Authorship of ''how-to'' documents and tool related user guides • Creation of templates and sample work products to make users more efficient and end-products more consistent • Advise Management on best practices in the governance of these project management tools • Migrating existing intranet sites into SharePoint • Writing procedures and training materials for SharePoint users • Conducting training sessions for SharePoint users • Developing FAQs and troubleshooting support materials for user support • Developing, documenting, and maintaining policies, procedures and associated training plans for SharePoint administration and appropriate use • Providing ongoing support to SharePoint users to include troubleshooting problems and client issues coupled with documenting problems, resolutions, and improvement ideas • Providing business support to intranet sites and Lotus Notes users
Required Skills • Solid understanding of Microsoft SharePoint 2007 • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Training experience • the ability to effectively train / rollout a new product • MS Office 2003/2007 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, InfoPath) • Lotus Notes • Understanding of high level use cases and requirements documents. Strong functional analysis skills and the ability to quickly get an end-to-end view of the business requirements and systems architecture • Proficiency in technical writing, particularly general help manuals • Excellent ability to organize information, manage tasks and projects, and use available tools to effectively contribute to the organization • Ability to complete detailed tasks and analyze data on schedule - initiative, organization and attention to detail • Able to multitask and remain flexible as priorities change
Preferred Skills • Bachelors degree in a computer related field. An Associates degree will be considered • Previous experience with HTML, FrontPage and Dreamweaver • Previous corporate work experience, working collaboratively in teams and interfacing with multifunctional clients and providers • Preferably a Bachelor degree in a computer related field.
