This position represents the senior level position with HP, Enterprise Performance Management to provide performance management support of mission critical NUnix systems. The Senior Technical Analyst possesses an in-depth knowledge of procedural processes and works with minimal guidance and support of senior staff. The Senior Technical Analyst will possess solid technical and interpersonal skills.

Major Accountabilities:

As part of a team, follows procedures to provide 3rd level reactive and proactive performance management for Unix systems.
Identifies requirements for real-time alerts to notify appropriate support groups of a current or potential performance problem.
Responds to real-time performance alerts to resolve performance problems.
Regular, on-going review and analysis of performance data to identify current performance problems and proactively detect potential future performance problems.
Define the requirements for performance management tools and databases, and provide on-going support of their operation.
Produces monthly client performance reports.
Analyze performance problems to determine root cause and identify possible corrective action.
Works co-operatively with Platform Services and other departments within HP to identify, analyze, and resolve performance problems.
Provides coaching and guidance to junior staff.
Follows the organization's Problem and Change and ITSM management processes.
Follows the organization's Escalation and Alert processes.
Continually develop solid technical skills that will allow advancement.
Will be part of the On-call pager support team (7x24)

Post Secondary Education in Information Systems and minimum of 2 years of Unix king knowledge of Web development including HTML & JAVA SCRIPT.
Working knowledge of SQL Database administration.

Technology Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Unix systems. Will also possess an in-depth knowledge of the following:
· O/S, System Admin, Middleware, and applications.
· Vendor Hardware
· High Availability Configurations
· TCP/IP
· Performance Analysis Concepts
· Capacity Planning proceses/concepts
· Technical Writing

Working knowledge and general understanding of the following:

· Performance Tools - Measureware, Openview Performance Manager & Reporter and One Point Manager
· Web Development - HTML, Javascript. Understanding of ASP, VB SCRIPT,CRYSTAL REPORTING and IIS would be a definite asset.
· SQL Database administration.
· Systems Management Tools - eg) HP ITO
· HP clients and system configurations
