Position Description: The JAVA Application/GUI Developer is a member of the Product Development team and will report directly to the Director, Software Development. As a member of a highly skilled technology and business team, the developer will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of JEE-based enterprise applications. This position requires someone with a strong technical aptitude and solid communication skills.
Requirements:
Job Description/Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the design and development of complex JEE-based solutions using industry-leading products and technologies. * Participate in solution architecture, and design efforts. * Apply appropriate design patterns and best practices. * Develop and unit test JEE-based solutions. Experience with JUnit is a plus but is not required. * Conduct code reviews and walkthroughs with technical team members. * Review test plans and test cases. * Ensure quality with delivered technical solution and related documentation. * Take ownership and maintain current java based applications used for data collection. * Design, develop, test new GU interface for Business Intelligence reporting and interfacing with client side for information gathering. Collaborate with DBA to store gathered data into the company?s data warehouse. * Collaborate with Technology Operations Team to maintain and enhance production portal and for product deployment.
Required skills:
* Must have held the role of a Senior or Lead Developer for enterprise-scale, JEE-based solutions for large organizations, including participation in the design and development of multiple server-side JEE (J2EE) projects. * BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with 6+ years of over-all information technology and software development experience including server-side Java/JEE (J2EE) programming experience on the IBM platform, web-based application development (JSP, HTML, Javascript, AJAX, XML). * Servlet/JSP development experience is required. * JEE framework development experience (Struts, Tiles, JSF, Spring, Hibernate, etc.) * Web service development experience (WSDL, SOAP, REST), RAD and/or Eclipse IDE experience, database and SQL knowledge (Oracle, DB2) * Preferred experience with JQuery, Dojo, XForms, XSLT, XPath, XQuery, SQL/XML, DB2 PureXML * Unix/Linux Shell Scripting is a plus * Experience working with the DICOM standard and with dicom implementation. * Understanding of DICOM sequences and structured reporting desirable but not required. * Experience working with open source applications desirable but not required. * Excellent problem solving, organizational and communications skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team, enthusiastic and able to adapt to a fast paced start-up environment. * Thorough understanding of Software Development Life cycle. * Experience working in an Agile environment preferred but not required.
