Java Batch Developer

Team Background:
The Software Engineering Development batch team prides itself on building applications that are efficient, accurate, and help the business meeting their initiatives. We work together, to get task done quickly, with the least amount of errors. Since we affect large amounts of data approximately 2,000,000 transactions a day, accuracy and speed, is our number one requirement for working with us. Therefore, we build unit and integration testing into our batches and we have transaction SLA?s to assure speed and accuracy. Our goal is to set the bars on quality, performance, and time to market for batch applications.
At this point, we are upgrading all of our batches to the latest java platform, SpringBatch, and Maven 3.
The batch team works very closely with our business, and often meet face to face. We create requirements on occasion, and work on applications from start of design to deployment. Which means, we are looking for someone that is confident in front of people and has good written and verbal communication skills?
We?re looking for a motivated software engineer to join our development team and help move our batch applications to the next level.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
- design, develop, and maintain multithreaded batch applications and SLA driven requirements
- actively participate in product design meetings
- perform complex bug verification, release testing
- research problems discovered by QA, services, or customer support, and develop solutions to the problems
- develop automated unit and integration test suites for both functionality, connectivity and boundaries
- plan and manage work to meet project objectives and team goals
- research and understand the requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and capacity issues.
- Research new technology or development tools to remain current and innovative
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor?s degree in Software Engineering, or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in software development
