COMSYS, a Manpower company is looking for a Senior Java Developer with design experience for a long term project in Downtown Houston, TX. Job Summary Under general supervision, provides technical expertise in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software. Conducts a wide range of quality-control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge in software testing. Contributes expertise at top technical levels in particular business processes and is responsible for formulating systems scope and objectives relative to the organizations business plan and requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develops cost-effective information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, testing, and implementing new and by modifying existing software applications that are relatively complex with full competency. Coordinates with users to determine requirements. Reviews systems under development and related documentation. Resolves customer complaints and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Participates in the development of software user manuals. May occasionally acts as team leader on less complex projects. May assist in training less-experienced software development staff. Education and Experience Required: Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, MIS or similar area of study. 5 to 8 years of previous experience required. Preferred: Masters Degree. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Experience in the following areas is required: J2EE/ IBM WebSphere 6.1/7 Experience in Web-Tier J2EE frameworks and expertise in upgrading legacy Web applications to current J2EE technologies Experience with JavaScript and AJAX based UI frameworks Experience with ORM or persistence frameworks such as iBATIS and Hibernate Experience building MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 and Oracle 10G/11G database applications using stored procedures, functions and triggers Developing/enabling Web Services that are SOA based to be used by ESB technologies, based on J2EE technologies Architecting and designing frameworks to be used by ERP applications to running on a J2EE platform Agile development methodology, SCRUM Please send all resume in MS Word format directly to with Java Designer in the Subject line.
