Los Angeles Job Description:
1. Develop and maintain web applications and business intelligence reporting applications using various technologies. 2. Develop and maintain operational and system level documentation. 3. Develop and maintain database systems from design to architecture. 4. Create and/or review end user requirements and specification documents. 5. Interview end users to gather or refine requirements. 6. Research source data locations to validate requirements. 7. Serve as a technical resource for other members of the development team7in ensuring data processing standards, guidelines, and procedures are practiced. 8. Be on-call for production jobs and perform trouble-shooting tasks when jobs abort. 9. Participate in JAD sessions as needed to review end-user requirements for enhancements for the new application development. 10. Modify and develop the queries used in the Ad Hoc environment that will be used to access data from Oracle and SQL Server data structures. 11. Mentor other County programmers assigned to work on the project. 12. Provide production support for end-users of the system, including: training, responding to questions, resolving problems and providing ad-hoc reporting. 13. Provide on-call support for the new system during business hours. 14. Assist in developing a Change Management Process and Procedures to enable smooth and efficient production migrations. 15. Assist with data modeling and query tuning to achieve maximum performance while retrieving data from database structures. 16. Assist developers with test planning, test conditions, and obtaining test data. Note: All program and database objects will reside in a Visual Source Safe library of County's choosing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must meet all of the following minimum qualifications: 1. One (1) year experience within the last three (3) years using Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) 4.0 software tools developing new custom user application solutions that includes ASP/C#.NET, JavaScript and XML hands on development. 2. Three (3) years experience within the last five (5) years designing and developing/programming new custom web applications utilizing tools such as VB or C#.NET, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, and SOAP. This includes the developmen of custom web services and user interfaces.8 3. Three (3) years experience within the last five (5) years working with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases designing and implementing new data structures that includes architecture design, database management, and data manipulation incorporating functions, procedures and complex SQL code. 4. Two (2) years experience within the last three (3) years utilizing Cognos 8 development suite which includes Report Studio, Analysis Studio and Transformer cubes. 5. Two (2) years experience within the last five (5) years designing and developing ETL utilities use SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) and Decision Stream/Data Manager programs that retrieve and load data from/to SQL Server or Oracle databases. 6. Two (2) years experience within the last three (3) years working with Business Analysts or End Users identifying and documenting new system requirements. 7. One (1) year experience within the last three (3) years working with System Development Methodology (SDM) or System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
