The Information Solutions Division of ITT Exelis is seeking an entry level analyst to process various types of technical standards and other projects through the NAVSEA technical standards process. You will be expected to read detailed Defense Standardization Program (DSP) and NAVSEA Instructions governing technical standard content, verbiage, and format requirements, and apply them to the respective technical standard type. You will be required to attend meetings with customers and provide technical standards policy interpretation and document development support. On a daily basis you will also interact with multiple customers, both military and commercial (mostly engineers), in addition to our in-house technical staff. The ability to work as part of a Team is essential. You will be expected to succinctly and accurately describe (verbally and in writing) document deficiencies or non-conformance issues as they relate to NAVSEA and DSP policies for content, verbiage, and format. You will also work within a process that ranges in duration from 4 months to 1 year for each technical standard. You will be required to incorporate engineering changes resulting from government and industry reviewer comments into technical standards and analyze changes for adherence to the respective DSP and NAVSEA requirements. You will manage a workload that includes various types and sizes of technical documents (from 10 to 250 pages) in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times. Finally, much of your day-to-day duties will also include: completing required forms and checklists, formatting technical standards in MS Word templates and editing and proofreading your work and the work of others, working within and maintaining consistent file structures and folder and file names, and utilizing multiple government websites for document processing and management.
Required Experience: This position requires a Bachelors Degree, proficiency in MS Word software, and the ability to use the internet and graphics software. A successful candidate must also have the ability to write well (grammatically correct), must be able to proofread accurately, and must be detail- and process-oriented. Good communication skills (both written and verbal) are a must. Finally, demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines is also required for this position.

This position will require a background investigation and eligibility for a government security clearance which requires US citizenship.
