Responsibilities:
The Lead Programmer Analyst is responsible for leading the design, development, technical implementation, and support of web applications and services within the Manage Your Card Account application suite. This role will require interaction with a number of technology and business organizations, and will provide a great opportunity to learn multiple products, business lines, and state-of-the-art technologies.
- Enables the technical delivery of a set of projects. Responsible for the design, build, test and implementation phases, as well as ensuring adherence to technical standards. Ensures the quality of deliverables in terms of supporting requirements analysis and the technical architecture. Works with architecture experts to ensure developments support the business and IT strategic plan. - Responsible for the quality of deliverables in terms of the technical design, implementation, testing and adherence to technical compliance standards. Works primarily with Lead Project Managers, Business Analysts and Architects. - Interacts with the business to understand associated business processes in conjunction with Process Analyst resources (if available). - Delegates, as appropriate, to employee and vendor developers, Senior Programmer Analysts and/or Programmers and monitors performance across resource channels. - Works with Business Analysts/business partners to determine and translate business requirements into technology solutions. - Ensures technical design/implementation documentation is completed to a high standard (delegating to Senior Programmer Analysts and Programmers as appropriate): - Program specifications - Implementation/support documentation - Disaster recovery documentation - Provides/reviews estimates for design, build, test and implementation phases, ensuring quality and accuracy is maintained. - Advises Project Management on the best time to engage dependent teams (for example, database management teams). - Manages (monitors and addresses) all development activity, and is accountable for ensuring quality and adherence to technical, security and compliance standards. - Coordinates application support activity during the 90-day warranty period. - Provides feedback to Lead Architects on practical utilization of enterprise-wide standards. - Supports the architectural design and documentation. - Performs/leads software design, development and documentation. - Provides hands-on technical expertise/governance on all aspects of implementation. - Guarantees quality of software development and testing.

Required Qualifications:
5-10 years of technical experience in application development. Minimum of 4 years of recent hands-on experience in J2EE framework, Java/JDBC/JSP/XML/EJB technologies, WebSphere tools, IBM MQ Series or other middleware/messaging technologies. Hands on experience with Relational Databases such as UDB, DB2, and Oracle. Experience with web service implementations. Experience with build tools and repositories such as Maven and Subversion a plus. Exposure to multiple platforms, such as IBM mainframe, a plus.
Strong organizational, decision making, risk management, relationship, and problem solving skills. Must have directly or indirectly lead at least small to medium size teams, preferably in an onshore/offshore setting. Must be able to learn and apply new technologies. Must manage multiple tasks effectively and progress work in parallel. Must have strong strategic and thought leadership skills. Strong analytical skills and the ability to convey technical and business concepts across all levels of the organization. JAVA certification and Computer Science or Information Systems degree strongly preferred. Candidate must be able to work on-site at the Phoenix location.
