External Job Title: Lead Software Engineer City: Bangalore State/Province/Region: Karnataka Country: India Job Description: In order to improve Informatica's support for transformations that involve hierarchical data, Informatica platform version 9.1 is planed to include a set of components that will allow hierarchical data processing (together know as HDP). A cornerstone of HDP will be a component (temporarily) named HMap, that will allow both elementary and advanced maps between hierarchical data structures, in particular XML, and between them and relational hierarchies. A substantial part of HMap's development will be performed by a dedicated team in ILabs. This role definition is for a talented and experienced engineer to lead the team. Role definition: 1. Main activities will include design, development, project management and people management. Some level of product insight is required. 2. Responsibility for designing and developing parts of the HMap; this may include DST and general Eclipse components, repository integration, backend units and others. 3. Responsibility for the development activities performed by the ILabs-HMap team (to be created) including: a. Assigning tasks to team members and tracking progress. b. Providing professional guidance to team members. c. In charge of the overall delivery of the ILabs-HMap team. 4. Working with HMap's QA team including a. Providing information regarding the product. b. Guiding with priorities. 5. Cooperating with other HDP teams. Required Skills: Role requirements: 1. A Principle or Senior Engineer to be located in ILabs. 2. At least BSc in computer science or equivalent. 3. At least 5 years of development experience in C++; Good knowledge of Java. 4. Great development skills 5. Experience in software design. 6. Ability to work independently and report remotely. 7. Ability to guide others. 8. Team playing ability. 9. Experience in GUI development. 10. Excellent English - both written and verbal communication skills. Skills which may be of an advantage: 1. Knowledge of PwC and Informatica's (Mercury) platform (DST). 2. Experience with Eclipse plugins programming. 3. Good understanding of hierarchical data representations and in particular XML and XSD
