Key Responsibilities: This person is responsible for creating technical specifications from business requirements, developing SharePoint solutions including Service Applications and web parts. The engineer must be able to manage multiple concurrent priorities spanning new software development projects as well as applications maintenance and support. Individual must have a strong technical foundation as well as a full understanding of common coding standards, configuration management, and full life cycle systems development. Be able to work effectively with other developers and non-technical staff from other departments. Have the ability to present complex technical information to a wide range of audiences, from other technical staff to senior management. Individual should be a fast learner of new technologies, be a creative thinker, share skills and information freely, and be able to mentor and train other developers.
Essential Functions:
* Developing SharePoint solutions that include Service Applications and webparts
* Prepare technical specifications, design documentation, code walk-throughs, test plans, and documentation of completed code
* Design, maintain, and support enterprise application systems, web applications and portals, custom reports, etc. Has the ability to work with various development tools, languages, and platforms.
* Collaborate effectively with engineers and other staff on development projects.
* Help define requirements, and explain the capabilities and limitations of various systems.
* Provide assistance and training to the other engineers
* Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Required Skills:
* Visual Studio 2008
* Experience writing web parts for Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (2007 or 2010) C#, XML
* Understanding of Web Services
* Understanding of relational database (e.g. SQL Server)
* Familiarity with SharePoint object model, services application framework
* Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
* Familiarity with the entire life cycle of a development project and agile methodologies
* Ability to create time estimates and scheduling
* Advanced proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
