Lead Storage Administrator
Minimum Associates degree, 2-year technical degree is required.
Minimum 4 year Computer Science, Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
5 years of storage administration experience with high end Brocade, HDS, and EMC hardware.
5 years experience as a Solaris, Linux, VMware and/or Windows system administrator.
Experience with Symantec/Veritas Storage Foundation and Symantec/Veritas Cluster.
Experience scripting in Perl, sh, ksh.
Symantec/Veritas NetBackup experience a plus.
VMware View experience a plus.
Must have strong analytical and design skills, planning and problem solving skills.
Must have strong oral and written communications skills, be a team player and have good customer service skills.
Must be able to work independently and on a team with minimal Lead Storage Administrator is responsible for the effective management of the local SAN environment(s), currently over 3 Pb. Duties include leading projects, lead SAN team members, and oversee full time vendor onsite personnel. Manage SAN tools, ensure SAN resources are tracked and efficiently utilized. Lead weekly team meetings, set goals and track progress. System administration responsibilities include Solaris, Linux, VMware and/or Windows system administration. Duties include system installation, operation and maintenance, including storage provisioning, upgrades, patches, monitoring, backup and recovery, DR, troubleshooting, oncall support, tuning, and writing and maintaining scripts and documentation. Other responsibilities include maintaining infrastructure applications, providing support to a varied user community, and composing clear, concise reports for system documentation. The Lead Storage Administrator is expected to perform his/her duties with minimum supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled.
