The VAIO division has an opening for a Lead User Interface Developer specializing in User Interface Architecture/Development, whose responsibilities include: * Leading the development of user interfaces for Sony VAIO software to be released in many countries around the world * Creating software that is attractive, useful, and usable, to provide a world-class user experience * Creating user experiences that engender confidence, trust, and customer satisfaction * Creating and executing the development plan * Eliciting real user requirements and helping to ensure that the products fit their customers' needs * Creating prototypes and writing user experience specifications that set clear goals for product implementation * Leading a team in the successful implementation of the user interface and applying development expertise to create high-quality code * Collaborating with other teams, such as the graphical design, quality assurance, and documentation groups * Driving innovation * Providing sustainable, and patentable, product differentiation and a competitive advantage * Contributing creativity to both product and process innovation * Developing visual and interaction design patterns that are reusable in other software product lines * Typical Input: * High-level Vision/Philosophy/Mission Statement * Target Users/Customers * Business/Marketing Considerations * HW Specification (if decided) * High Priority Functionality/Use Cases/Requirements * Flows and Navigation Maps * Wireframes/Blueprints/Storyboards * Schedule Information * Typical Deliverables: * Clear Written Specifications * Prototypes/Mockups * Production quality code o Must be an expert developing desktop application user interfaces using C# · Expertise using WPF/XAML is strongly preferred · Expertise prototyping user interfaces using other technologies is a plus (Expression Blend, Visio, HTML/CSS, Flash, Silverlight, etc.) o Must display solid understanding, proven experience, and evangelism in the principles of: · User-centric Design · Human-Computer Interaction · Interface and Interaction Design · Usability Engineering · Information Architecture · Visual Design o 10 years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of consumer-oriented, high-tech products · Masters or PhD in a related fields is preferable o Persuasive, with strong communication skills, both written and oral o Must be able to present a detailed portfolio
