Level 2 Help Desk Support Specialist

Boutique consulting firm is looking for an enthusiastic, eager to learn Level 2 Help Desk Technician / Junior Engineer to perform Level 1 and Level 2 support for clients in the NY/NJ area. Under the supervision of the Director of IT, you ensure the operation and availability of networked workstations and all related peripheral devices, including smartphones and tablets. You would repair, troubleshoot, install and maintain PCs, software and peripherals while providing superior customer serivce to end users. Must be able to work both remotely from home and onsite at clients' locations throughout the NYC area.

COMPENSATION: $40,000-$45,000 (DOE)
Temp position for 4 months is paid hourly wage equivalent of the agreed upon salary without benefits. If hired for permanent position, you are paid the agreed upon salary, medical benefits, PTO/vacation, phone stipend and performance bonuses.
Requirements:
+ A+ Certification
+ Ability to travel to clients in NYC area
+ 2-3 years Help Desk experience (including virus removal, workstation connectivity to network issues, printer connectivity issues, installation of operating systems, etc.)
+ Strong understanding of:
- IP networks and IP addressing
- Cabling, CAT5/6 Ethernet (Telephone cabling a plus)
- Current and past editions of Microsoft Office Suite
+ Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn and excellent communications skills (written and oral)
+ Installation, production use and support of current and older versions of:
- Network management devices (switches, hubs, fiber-optic, packet sniffing)
- Storage system devicies (SCSI, RAID, SATA, with SAN a plus)
- POP, SMTP, DNS (and DDNS), DHCP, VLANs and routing
- Blackberries, Androids, and other smartphones (also Blackberry Enterprise Server)
- Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition and other anti-Spam products
- Microsoft Office
