The Lighting Applications Specialist fills several important roles in this organization:

a) Supports Regional Sales Managers & Sales Agents with applications solutions and advice.

b) Provides insight to Marketing on how the product portfolio is meeting or missing the lighting application needs of customers and provides expertise Product Management to ensure new product design specifications meet the target lighting design application;

c) Provides critical applications expertise to Marketing activities;


Responsibilities:

Ensure marketing literature, web tools, case studies, etc. are supported with the appropriate lighting applications expertise.
*
Responsible for creating white papers and other application highlights for newsletters, website, and other marketing activities.
*
Review and report on relative strengths/weaknesses of the product offering versus that of competitors.
*
Participate in new product concept development and provide lighting design and applications advice throughout the product development process.
*
Support the sales team and rep channel with lighting solutions for project opportunities and prepare the appropriate applications data and photometric and energy analyses for these projects.
*
Coordinate with Engineering on custom fixture opportunities for projects when required.
*
Maintain a central repository of photometric data.
*
Report on the application activity.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

A thorough knowledge of lighting fundamentals, photometry and lighting applications achieved through a minimum of 4 years work experience as a specifier of lighting products and a bachelor degree, preferably in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Interior Design, Lighting Design, or equivalent combination of education and experience. An expert knowledge of AGI.
