Job Duties · IT experience in a Data Architect, DBA and/or Lead Database developer role · Provides vision for HP's Supply Chain data architecture · Implements technology solutions at a detailed level by applying industry knowledge, best practices and architectural guidance to ensure system functionality and cost efficiencies. · Analyzes technology at a detailed level to recommend its effective use and fit within for the Logistics Domain · Serves as the lead troubleshooter to diagnose systems technology issues in development and operational environments. Provides leadership as data Architect on relevant IT projects to ensure architectural compliance. · Serves as the lead troubleshooter to diagnose systems technology issues in development and operational environments. Provides leadership as data Architect on relevant IT projects to ensure architectural compliance. · Defines, documents and communicates the Supply Chain IT target architecture, standards and best practices for a specific technology or solution domain.
Major Position Responsibilities:
· Responsible for data architecture for Supply Chain IT systems · Responsible for reviewing data base specific code for customizations of pre-packaged solutions and in house developed supply chain systems · Responsible for data archiving architecture and adherence to HP data archive policies · Ensure the design and implementation of Supply Chain IT systems scales and performs to the level required to support the business · Assist with and help design reporting and analytics for Supply Chain IT systems · Focus on providing reliable, scalable, fault tolerant, and feature rich applications · Work closely with technology vendors and outsourced/offshore development team providing technical insight, architecture advice, code review etc · Work closely with the business determining development priorities, coming up with ideas for new features and systems · Understanding of end-to-end supply chain and associated eco-systems and ability to architect and implement strategic recommendations · Drive global standardization and optimization of supply chain planning processes and systems · Understanding of key business requirements across business units and regions · Evaluate architectural alternatives with the business and IT and select the desirable alternatives for the business and application platform · Leverage best practices and solutions across regions, businesses and Supply Chain IT platforms · Understand program/projects objectives and business requirements to develop detailed architectural design · Ensure that the architecture design aligns with IT application and technology roadmap and end-state vision · Incorporate industry and HP best practices in the architectural design · Ensure project architecture review processes (ACR/PAR) are properly adopted and approval of the architectural design from all the stakeholders · Follow project management methodology and ensure the timely delivery of architectural designs · Participate in knowledge sharing within and across business and IT organizations · Help project sponsors and managers make key decisions around the best business solutions
· Typically a technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 12 to 15 years of related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 12 years of experience. · Minimum of 12 years database architecture, modeling and development experience · Extensive experience, 12 years, with Oracle from an operations and development experience. Experience with other databases a plus. · Experience with database high availability and disaster recovery solutions including practical, design and implementation knowledge · Strong leadership to influence both internally and externally in the industry · Must have demonstrated strong customer orientation, interpersonal skills and team work · Be quick to embrace new technologies and apply them to business solutions. Have strong desire to learn new methods for accomplishing business goals, project management and personal/team goals · In addition, the applicant must be capable of applying theoretical knowledge across multiple functional areas and computing environments and shift among diverse assignments · Ability to conduct research using varies media. · Ability to work independently as well as with various size teams. · Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills required. · Ability to interact with business users as well as technical staff. · Should possess skills to facilitate requirements gathering/analysis workshops. · Should possess creative ability, consulting skills, leadership qualities, credibility, self-confidence. · Experience with packaged supply chain solutions a plus (SAP, RedPrarie, Manhattan, Oracle,etc.. )
