Logistics Systems Specialist - DIRECT LABOR
The purpose of this position is to provide a qualified Logistics Automated Data Systems Specialist to ensure that the training audience can experience a realistic updated simulation that incorporates the current logistics support systems they can expect to utilize in future operations. Manages integrated and comprehensive logistics support systems in support of full spectrum simulated military exercises. The Logistics Automated Data Systems Specialist is responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and instruction on all Marine Corps, Joint and coalition logistics support computer applications and systems. This position ensures all of these systems are integrated and fully available to support MCTOG training exercises. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and instruction of all logistics support systems, in current use and future development, to include, but not limited to BCS3 and CLC2S servers and associated workstations and peripherals. This position is located within the MCTOG Command and Control Division, so in addition to having specific responsibility for Logistics Support systems, possess a working knowledge of all pertinent automated C2 and information systems, also be able to perform installation, maintenance, and instruction on specific C2 and information systems in order to support the overall objectives of the Division: Install, operate, and maintain current and future CSS simulations and C4I systems. Perform System Administrator duties to include database and system security management. Develop and provide instruction. Develop networks for future exercises. Provide event support. Provide technical advice to Information Management Officers. Recommend system upgrades and changes. Periodically travel to conferences and/or systems courses. Provide on-site technical assistance. Instruct on C2 Systems interoperability with respect to each system. Operate, provide instruction, and maintain various training to simulation models with respect to logistics operations and translate real world or fictional enemy and friendly force structures into an exercise simulation database. Network and integrate Log systems with other program of record and experimental applications / systems. Assist in exercise product development utilizing Log data systems. Build current Log data bases and repositories. Perform as Log systems operator ISO exercises. Perform as a logistics response cell role ISO exercises. Knowledge and Experience Required by the Position: Working knowledge of C2, information assurance, and information systems to include formal military instruction. Minimum three years experience with operation, system administration, and military training and education. Knowledge of military operations and organizations to include military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships. Effective oral and written communications skills. Ability to research complex issues and develop comprehensive reports. Real world operations participation in deployment and employment command and control methods and systems for ground combat, aviation, supporting arms, and combat service support units is desired.Minimum three years experience in DOD modeling and simulation, and demonstrated experience with MTWS, and other simulation models such as JDLM, JCATS, JSAF, OneSAF, CBS, or JTLS. C2: BCS3, CL2CS. Physical Demands: Work is generally sedentary except during occasional visits to off- site locations where there may be a requirement to hike short distances into training areas. There shall be a requirement to assist in moving and repositioning computer systems, servers, and other office equipment weighing no more than 50 pounds per person (e.g. two-man lift 100lbs). Work Environment: Much of the work is in an office setting; however, during certain training events there maybe a requirement to operate in a spartan environment where there is potential exposure to venomous snakes, poisonous plants, steep terrain, heat and cold, as well as dry and humid weather.
Qualifications: Required: valid Secret Security Clearance.
