Provide specialty machine shop support to production, maintenance, engineering, and quality and other authorized personnel within the plant. Fabricates fixtures and gages, repair or modify existing tools and equipment. Manufactures fixtures, tooling, gages to blueprints and sketches. Establish a 6S environment and maintain at all times.
-Plan and perform with some assistance a combination of machining, heat treating, mechanical, and welding duties to minimize downtime of assigned equipment in the machining and assembly areas. -Performs work from detailed drawings or sketches to produce parts using varied CNC and manual machines/measuring equipment under minimum supervision. -Fabricates fixtures and gages for quality inspection and offers design input. -Disassemble, repair, install damaged or broken equipment, and reverse engineer tooling as required. -Perform work on mechanical/pneumatic equipment by manufacturing metal or non-metal components to restore to operational order. -Make all machine set-ups (including programs) and keep a safe and clean work area. -Works with Tooling Engineer to support Prototype tooling and fixturing needs. -Proficient in operation of cutter grinders and Wire Electro Discharge machines
