Now Hiring:Mainframe Computer Operator
Position Profile:
The successful candidates will handle all aspects of Enterprise Computer Operations environment, including operating systems, support systems, job flow Change, problem notification/escalation, tape media management, printer management, computer room physical security, and hardware/environmental monitoring. This position is for theweekend shift working Friday through Sunday 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Key Job Requirements:
Responsibilities include: Monitoring mainframe systems and subsystems in a parallel sysplex environment. Monitoring the environment and processes on all operating system platforms including servers under the control of the corporate data center. Monitor the operation of all hardware and environmental equipment in the data center. Ensuring all batch jobs and server processes are executed through the job scheduler. Must be available to work other shifts as needed.
Requirements:
The ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years Mainframe Computer Operations experience to include MVS, VTAM and JES2. Tape library experience to include CA1. Exposure to WAN, LAN interfaces, including CICS. PC software literacy including Windows OS applications. Must have ability to work well under stressful, problem situations. Must also have the ability to identify and communicate important information to our Information Services support teams. Dependability and the ability to work in a group setting are a wledge of BMC scheduling software and AS400 experience are a plus.
