ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reporting to the Senior Director, IT Applications and Systems, you will build and maintain a team of IT professionals that provide support for operational issues and concerns identified by users of Monitoring and Management tools across the BlackBerry Operations Organization, in particular RIM's Network Operations Centers. These tools include those developed within the team, those developed by other teams inside RIM and those supplied by third-party vendors.
The Manager, BlackBerry Operations Tools Support, will provide leadership, mentorship and guidance for the Monitoring & Management Application Support team. The Manager will field requests for escalations by end users. You will be an active participant in upcoming projects that affect monitoring and management platforms. The Manager will ensure the quality of the monitoring and management platform and will maintain and ensure that operational processes are complete, correct and robust. ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Information Systems, or Applied Technology - Computer Systems. * Current ITIL Foundations certificate and demonstrated experience applying ITIL concepts to production service offerings. * 7 or more years of relevant, broad industry experience. * Previous experience in a 24/7 mission critical operational role, preferably in a Network Operation Centre environment * Demonstrated leadership skills * Able to handle stressful situations with a level-headed approach and make extensive use of available resources * Capable of reacting quickly to problems and following established procedures to implement solutions * Demonstrated organizational skills * Superlative written and verbal communications skills * Excellent consensus building skills and team building skills * Demonstrated experience as a proponent of 'best practices' and a leader in continuous improvement activities * Previous experience with Enterprise-grade monitoring platforms, particularly EMC Smarts or CA eHealth are desirable * Previous experience in the deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows in an enterprise environment. * Experience with networking technologies, SQL databases and email systems * Project Management skills and previous experience teaching or training others are assets * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Ability to communicate with both business and technical audiences * Ability to collaborate across disciplines * Self-motivated, with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
