Job Purpose: Manages and oversees one or more warehouse departments and
related logistical operations. Guides leads and manages staff programs services and other areas of assigned responsibility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Analyzes and examines methods and procedures to devise ways and means of increasing effectiveness. * Plans develops and implements quality plans for the assembly inspection and distribution of company products. * Provides engineering / technical assistance to the organization customer and/or manufacturer as required. * Maintains and/or supervises test equipment calibration systems to ensure full compliance to MIL-STD-45662. * Plans develops and maintains and/or supervises inspection systems to ensure full compliance to MIL-I-45208. * Directs ISO 9002 operations within specified facility and provides coordination with the corporate ISO Administrator. * Conducts and/or supervises evaluations to determine cause effect and corrective measures required to remedy deviations from desirable standards of quality. * Conducts and/or supervises internal audits to ensure compliance to all quality assurance policies and procedures. * Coordinates with franchise suppliers on matters pertaining to product quality. * Plans develops and implements quality assurance procedures. * Administers RMA systems for the evaluation and processing of all customer returns. * Provides logistical support to other organizational divisions within specified facility as required. * Consults with customers regarding quality surveys/audits within specified facility. * Compiles computes and/or supervises the preparation of monthly reports. * Reviews customer specifications to determine information is current customer requirements are specified and inspection and testing processes are incorporated and/or revised. * Reviews and evaluates variances not meeting prescribed tolerance levels and obtains deviation as required. * Documents maintenance of records drawings and other data related to product reliability. * Participates in quality and product committee meetings to discuss and resolve problems affecting quality of production items. * Accountable for general management responsibilities including appraisal of employee performance and recommendation of salary adjustments according to company guidelines. * Administers employee development and disciplinary issues. Initiates staff level changes within company guidelines. * Interviews and selects job candidates. Establishes work priorities and delegates work assignments for optimum use of employees and equipment. Provides training to employees in the performance of job responsibilities as well as company and department policies and procedures. Reviews work of department staff for quality and accuracy. Approves hours worked and overtime expenses. * Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements: * Knowledge of warehouse operations and functions. * Knowledge of concepts and trends in logistics warehouse management shipping regulations import/export requirements and related areas. * Knowledge of military specification/standards. * Knowledge of quality assurance programs and inspection systems. * Knowledge of test and measurement equipment calibration systems required. * Knowledge of ISO 9000 series systems. * Knowledge of statistical process controls (SPC). * Skill in technical writing. * Skill in performing audits of systems and products. * Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of standard office and specialized software applications. * Skill in utilizing basic measurement devices such as calipers depth gages micrometers etc. * Skill in simultaneously managing multiple projects and assignments with conflicting deliverables deadlines and requirements.
Work Experience Requirements: Seven (7) years of warehouse/logistical operations oversight and/or closely
related work experience that includes at least three years as a manager supervisor or lead worker OR work experience that provides a range of job situations to build a sufficient level of knowledge and skills to be successful in meeting the required job duties and responsibilities.
Education Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Business Business Administration Logistics or closely related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable job skills and knowledge will have been obtained.
