Job Description PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for the overall performance of the applications development team in the design, delivery and support of all Novo Nordisk applications with a focus on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and e-business.

RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the Director, Applications Development of Information Technology and will have a staff of five+ professionals to include Application Developers and Systems Analysts. This position will also manage relationships with key business stakeholders in the sales organization and external service and data providers used both by IT and the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Applications Development
o Provides vision, planning, leadership and problem solving for all aspects of Applications Development in the area of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Web Development
o Ensures compliance with the NNI Project Management Methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables:
? Requirements Analysis
? Functional Specifications
? Coding
? Testing
? Documentation
? Maintenance
o Works with the business leaders to design, develop, implement and support a robust data warehouse to support business intelligence in the areas of sales reporting, marketing and financial analysis
o Identifies and implements appropriate end user reporting tools and technologies
o Develops and/or implements software solutions which fully meet the business requirements
o Defines and implements tools and technologies to enhance the productivity of the applications development team
o Develops plans to ensure technology skills training for the application development staff

Manages Service Levels
o Establishes and measures SLA's to ensure service levels are met or exceeded
o Ensures compliance with all change management and validation requirements
o Works with the Project Managers to ensure all project staffing requirements are met
o Reduces support requirements by ensuring high quality throughout the entire SDLC
Data Warehousing
o Defines the application architecture and strategy consistent with the global and local IT strategy and business needs
o Evaluates and recommends new and innovative application systems, tools and technologies which are consistent with the architecture, strategy and business need
o Ensures compliance with all security, regulatory and quality polices and procedures

DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE:
Ensure that reporting personnel have 3P forms with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process
Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way of Management
Ensure that the 3P forms include completed Individual Development plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education: BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
Experience:
o 10+ Years of Application Development and Support experience
o 8+ Years of experience in Siebel Development and Support
o 5+ Years of experience in managing SFA applications for Pharmaceutical Industry
o 2+ years of experience in managing Siebel Call Center application
Managerial Experience: Proven track record of strong people management skills, including developing employees. Experience in managing a team of 5 or more
Specific or technical job skills:
o Experience developing strategic plans and practical implementation strategies.
o Experience managing, integrating, and loading large volumes of data
o Experience with version 8.1 or higher for Siebel ePharma CRM and version 7.7 or higher for Siebel Call Center
o Solid experience with the ability to provide direction, guidance and consultation to the Siebel Development team on Siebel Tools Configuration, eScript, Siebel VB, Business Services, EIM and EAI
o Experience working with Siebel Assignment Manager, Siebel Workflow Manager and Siebel 8 Territory Management
o Experience in configuring/operating Siebel SFA application in a Pharmaceutical environment with multiple organization setup
o Experience and knowledge in ITIL's system management activities
o Experience in collaborating across multiple stakeholders in designing SFA solution strategy and roadmaps for future system capabilities and business needs
o Deep understanding of pharmaceutical industry's sales force structure, SFA needs, and segmentation/targeting
o Through understanding of PDMA regulations and other Federal and State laws and regulations with respect to marketing efforts within Pharmaceutical Industry
o Experience with relational and analytical data modeling
o Experience as a DBA, in database and query tuning, capacity planning, and data archival approaches and technologies
o Experience with pharmaceutical related data sources (e.g., IMS)
o Pharmaceutical experience preferred
Additional Information OTHER:
Works within Novo Nordisk's established policies and procedures and ensures alignment of their work to Novo Nordisk fundamentals.

Approximately 15% overnight travel
