Reporting to the Platform Director for Airbus A350 EMSP Platform, the selected candidate will be responsible for the Controls Development Program for the Airbus A350 Extended Mechanical Systems Perimeter Platform, with responsibilities spanning IPDS phases 2 through 6. This position is responsible for full programmatic performance, including transition into Entry Into Service (EIS) and full production. Extensive leadership/interface with functional leaders in engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, and Customer & Product Support, as well as supporting functions such as contracts, program planning & control, export compliance, Marketing and Product Management and the on-site support team are required. The selected candidate is accountable for developing and deploying cost effective, proactive processes and methods to achieve breakthrough improvements in program performance, leading to revenue growth, contribution margin expansion by meeting design to unit cost goals, EAC reduction, program delivery/commitment performance and cost control & competitiveness throughout the life-cycle.
Responsibilities include: . Leading Software and Hardware development, qualification, flight test support activities, through direct interaction with Project Engineers and Cost account managers . Strengthening Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) deployment . Audit and improvement of monthly program/operation reviews and metrics . Analyzing program management processes and leading improvement teams (as required) . Conducting independent program reviews and sponsoring the development and deployment of common program management tools. . Directly responsible for Program Performance, Greensheet Commitments, Customer Satisfaction, Growth and Profitability for assigned program(s). . Establish and maintain appropriate business relationships with assigned customer and program partners (including subcontractors) and act as focal point for the customer. . Establish management operating systems (MOS) to measure comprehensive program performance against customer CTQ's and internal HMR and EVMS requirements. . Establish, maintain, and lead the Program Teams including establishment of program plans, enabling processes, and deploy the ATR Program MOS aligned with IPDS to integrate and drive program & project performance, including VOC performance (e.g., delivery on commitments, quality, responsiveness, reliability, service & development) and financial performance (e.g., revenue, contribution margin, ENI, etc.). . Production Readiness including compliance with Airbus IPCA and GRESS requirements, as well as internal MRL requirements. . Control program scope, baseline changes, and net investment during design, development, certification and entry-into-service. . Develop and execute detailed action plans and management operating system, including extensive risk/opportunity analysis, with Engineering, ISC, C PS and Airline CBT teams for achieving revenue and net investment / operating income targets for the program and Airbus Segment, including management of a living greensheet and conductance of an internal communication plan for the assigned programs. . Participate in monthly operation reviews for the customer and program relative to VOC, Development Program, Project & Delivery Performance, Quality/RCCA, and Reliability. Develop and manage improvement actions for the Surveillance Systems . Work closely with the M&PM and AME organizations to implement cost reduction activities necessary for the baseline greensheet. . Managing and certification of cost reduction program, Product Upgrades Candidate can be based in Toronto, Canada or Phoenix, AZ Key Success Factors: . Basic Qualifications: . Bachelors degree . 8 years of relevant program or project management experience in DO-178 software design, control systems, electrical or systems
Additional Qualifications: . Proven ability to build & lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations . Engineering or business degree preferred. MBA desirable. . Strong analytical and financial skills . Ability to think broadly & integratively. . Experience setting & prioritizing goals and identifying & scoping effort . Solid skill set in all aspects of Program or Project Management including knowledge of IPDS and PM tools and processes. . Program Management Professional (PMP) certification. . Demonstrated competency in Six Sigma tools, software, and design processes. . Six Sigma Greenbelt trained/certified . Strong customer & executive communication skills . International customer experience preferred. Knowledge of French/German business culture is a plus.
