Description The client is seeking a Market Data Software Quality Test Engineer to test and validate Digital / Broadband products before they are released to the general public. The client is at the forefront of technology development for financial content delivery to consumers via cable television, the internet, and mobile devices through its suite of products. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, curious individuals that enjoy finding problems and working in a collaborative environment to solve problems. This is a strong entry point for people interested in a variety of career paths: software / web developer, product / project manager, data analyst, and content producer/publisher (web or online). Position Requirements: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Working with the project team to produce a high quality release * Working with other members of the test team to facilitate end-to-end testing * Working with development partners * Developing plans for and participating in user acceptance testing * Providing status reports to management * Reviewing requirements, business and system use cases, technical specifications and other project documentation * Writing test cases to verify requirements * Providing test estimates * Writing and maintaining regression test cases * Writing test plans * Recording details of test executions * Manual execution of test scripts * Writing and tracking defects and verifying defect resolution Qualifications * BS/MS or equivalent * 3+ years of combined experience in application development, project management, or quality testing. * Minimum 1 year in a Quality Assurance team of a web- based software product. * 1-2+ experience with Real-time market data applications (i.e. Reuters terminal, Bloomberg terminal). * Intermediate to advanced understanding of equity fundamental data (i.e P/E ratios, the concept of Market Cap., etc.) * Strong written & verbal communication skills. * Unrestricted authorization to work in the US. * Comfortable interacting and communicating with people at various levels within the organization. * Advanced skills in writing test scripts using automated testing tools such as HP tools (WinRunner and QuickTest Pro) or Rational or Quality Center. * Strong manual testing background with particular emphasis in Real-Time Financial applications or systems. * Solid understanding of Financial Markets: equities, fixed income, derivatives, and commodities. * Experience with a test-scripting tool such as Test Director or Rational preferred. * Intermediate to advanced scripting skills with automated testing tools such as Mercury tools (WinRunner and QuickTest Pro), Rational, or Quality Center (preferred). * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Proven track record of delivering projects * Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and changing priorities * Must be able to work independently and possess effective time management skills. * Strong process skills and knowledge of software development lifecycle. * A passion for learning. * Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
