Materials Process & Physics Manager K
Oversees personnel who support the development and implementation of assembly technology equipment and processes for use on current and future airplane programs. Job responsibilities include developing workgroup goals, objectives, and related metrics to ensure alignment with customer requirements. The manager will need to provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes, and will develop/motivate employees to achieve goals for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. In addition, the manager will also convey organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup and project or process goals, and will proactively communicate with employees, peers, and customers. This position includes the management of a development assembly lab; therefore, the manager will be required to implement policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistent execution of processes that meet Boeing safety and other regulatory requirements.

General knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures), and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data). Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements.

The ideal candidate should possess a an Engineering Degree, have experience in managing large development projects and possess leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of assembly processes such as drilling, fastening, and torque equipment as well as experience with portable assembly tooling and right-sized automated assembly equipment is highly desired.
