Minimum Skills/Requirements
Skills: M.D./D.O. in Family/Internal/or General Medicine. New Mexico License required. Three to five years experience in clinical practice.
Knowledge: Requires detailed knowledge of medical practice in terms of theories and practices to serve as the resource or educator to other practitioners in the medical field. This staff member must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served.
Abilities: Mental Power: Ability to make decisions that require significant analysis and investigation with solutions requiring significant original thinking. Mental Power: Ability to determine appropriate courses of action in more complex situations that may not be addressed by existing policies, procedures or protocols. Decisions include such matters as changes in staffing levels, order in which work is done, and application of established procedures. Physical Power: Sits 4 hours a day. Stand/walk on feet 4 hours a day. Assumes and maintains various postural positions from ground to overhead. Hand/wrist/finger movement. Primary Job Functions
. Performs initial and follow-up health status evaluations.
. Participates in Performance Improvement and Medical Staff committees.
. Assists in development of cost-effective medical practices.
. Provides on-call backup support for ER if necessary.
. Performs all necessary documentation required per Medical Staff bylaws, rules and regulations.
. Provides for professional growth and development.
