Move beyond basic design work by working directly with Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality and the entire manufacturing personnel in a highly competitive and exciting work environment.
Expected duties igns, modify and manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. Serves as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifecycle, from product release through maintenance of the product and end of life decisions. Promotes investigation and application of new technologies and industry trends to product development activities. Ensures that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals. Other duties include.
* Develop new products, support existing products and improve processes. * Verify that designs meet requirements through analysis, simulation, and measurement. Compares results to theory and document results. * Communicate results of work to project team and management. * Analyze data and make solution oriented recommendations for project and other product related teams. * Create project documentation. * Demonstrate proficiency with one relevant technology or toolset. * Provide technical support to factory, service and other internal departments. * Form contacts with members of other departments or units. * Coordinate and verify the work of support staff. * May lead projects of limited scope. * May provide design and project support in the areas of project leadership, regulatory, reliability, and component selections. Experience:This position requires a minimum of 2 years related experience with a preference for 4 or more years overall experience. A background in mechanical design utilizing one's expertise with Pro-E (or any other solid modeling program) focused on creating products involving plastics specifically is highly desired. Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is highly desired or equivalent experience. Certification(s):N/A Travel:1 - 10%
