Title: MicroStrategy Developer/ Administrator Skills: microstrategy development and administration Date: 8-25-2010 Description: One of Houston's Fortune 50 company's is currently recruiting for a Microstrategy developer for a long term contract. The individual will provide administration of MicroStrategy Business Intelligence software under the domain of Enterprise Data Management to support enterprise-wide initiatives, Design and build advanced dashboards and reports in MicroStrategy, Design recommendations to accommodate business requirements, application development needs, and database modifications required to implement BI solutions, Mentor and train MicroStrategy BI Team, provide leadership for other MicroStrategy team members and act as liaison between BI Administrators, Developers, Database Administrators, System Administrators, and Business Users. If you are interested in learning more, please forward Word resume to: Additional details: Maintain ongoing knowledge of MicroStrategy platform capabilities (including future releases) Performance and data quality validation on new and existing reports and environments Participate in requirements gathering and design for ongoing development projects Perform BI Administration tasks including: o Perform MicroStrategy software installation and configuration o Perform MicroStrategy software backup and recovery o Apply MicroStrategy software patches and upgrades o Perform MicroStrategy performance tuning o Validate MicroStrategy source connectivity o Perform MicroStrategy scheduling tasks o Provide MicroStrategy documentation o Provide on-call support o Perform problem assessment and resolution Mandatory experience: Advanced understanding of MicroStrategy Business Intelligence software Advanced Dashboard Design Advanced skills in Schema Design and Data Modeling concepts Advanced Metric Design MicroStrategy SDK Experience Understanding of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) Advanced analytical and problem solving skills Strong interpersonal skills Advanced understanding of the software development lifecycle including: requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and production support. Advanced understanding of Relational OLAP database models used in Decision Support Systems Advanced understanding of SQL in accessing and manipulating data in Very Large Databases. General understanding of system architecture.
