ITT-Exelis is seeking an experienced MS Exchange Administrator to provide our customer with system administration and technical expertise for a single-site Exchange environment at the Naval Research Laboratory, located in Washington, DC. The Exchange Administrator will work closely with, and at the direction of, the senior administration team members in the design, implementation, maintenance and disaster recovery planning for a Microsoft Exchange 2010 environment, scalable to 5000 users and meeting the customer's requirements & budget. The Microsoft Exchange infrastructure will additionally support secure messaging services on mobile devices. Essential job functions of a candidate for this position will include: .Administration and support of a Microsoft Exchange 2010 environment in order to meet and maintain appropriate service levels. .Development and maintenance of appropriate documentation of the MS Exchange/mobile device management environment for certification and accreditation by IA personnel. Apply DoD and local security policies & practices as required. .Provide a point of escalation and support for desktop & user support personnel regarding email service operation and common client configuration (Outlook, Entourage, Thunderbird, mobile email) on multiple platforms (Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Unix, mobile OS'es). .Enforce change management and compliance processes. .Shared responsibility for monitoring, managing, & maintaining Windows Servers & services in support of Exchange & mobile management environments. .Help manage email system backups and participate in planning of a comprehensive disaster recovery plan for email services. .Position is expansive and additional responsibilities may be added. Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to deal with a wide range of personnel, including highly technical individuals, managers, vendors, contractors, and end users. Candidate must have excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, an in-depth knowledge of MS Exchange and it's internal workings, as well as the ability to handle a wide range of tasks. Candidate should be self-motivated team player and have a strong desire to learn, experiment, and think outside of the box. Required Experience: 5+ Years with BS Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
The ideal candidate should have 4+ years working experience and strong proficiency with Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010 configuration & administration. Must have 3+ years experience supporting, maintaining, and administering core Microsoft technologies (Windows Server 2003/2008) and knowledge of Active Directory administration and troubleshooting. Candidate must have a sound working knowledge of email protocols & client/server operation, Internet/Intranet technologies and network infrastructure, including switching, routing, Ethernet, TCP/IP. Prior experience supporting a mixed platform environment (Windows, Mac OS, Linux) is desirable. Prior experience in a government contract or University environment is desirable. Prior experience supporting & managing email & security configurations on mobile devices (Blackberry, iOS, Windows Mobile, & Android) is a plus. Experience with mobile device management solutions is a plus. Experience with VMware vSphere is a plus. Active DoD security clearance is desirable, but not required upon hire. However, the successful candidate must be a US Citizen and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a security clearance.
