Title: MS SQL Server DBA (Application Services) Location: Philippines-Makati City Support Operations · Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents. · Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to database related problems. · Monitor and optimize database performance. · Implement and maintain database security. · Review and execute routine service requests. · Review, sign-off and migrate database changes to Production environment. · Participate in regular or ad hoc meetings. · Provide consultancy to other HP support team on database-related matters. · Create and submit required DBA reports to designated individuals/groups. · Create and maintain support documentation. · Coordinate with System DBA group in resolving database infrastructure issues. · Interface with 3rdparty vendor for technical support. · Work as a member of a 24x7 DBA operations team. Application Development · Participate in design review meetings and provide recommendations to database-related changes. · Create or modify conceptual database design - e.g. data modeling; ER diagrams. · Create or modify logical database design - e.g. ensure tables are properly normalized, define integrity rules. · Create or modify physical database design - e.g. transform logical design to physical database implementation; ensure naming conventions properly enforced. · Create and manage database objects such as tables, indexes, views, packages, etc. · Review complex database queries and/or programs and recommend changes. · Develop and implement PL/SQL stored procedures and UNIX shell scripts. · Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to developed solutions. Platform / Technologies: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Sybase Essential ·A bachelor's degree, preferably in an IT related subject. ·Experienced in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle database technology (DBA work) and UNIX (scripting). ·Highly analytical and strong problem solving skills ·Ability to interface with all levels of internal customers and external vendors. ·Well organized, pro-active and self directed; able to perform with minimal supervision. ·Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ·Results and Performance Driven. ·Customer-Centric. ·Business Acumen and Thought Leadership. ·Team Leadership and Personal Effectiveness.
