The Fusion System Software team is looking for an experienced software test engineer that is eager to learn and apply leading-edge processor technologies. As a key member of the test team, the candidate will be responsible for closely working with the development engineers and write test cases for the various components in the Kernel Fusion System Architecture Driver and Runtime stack. This is an opportunity to join a growing team that is looking to productize a software stack that unleashes the full potential of AMDs future generations of hardware. This includes working with Development and Architects to research how new capabilities will function to come up with effective end-user usages that will help you define innovative Validation strategies. You will then build plans, design, and develop tools/harnesses, analyze and debug the results of your tests, then work with Development to close whatever issues you found.
As a high-output / high-performance software validation engineering team, we adhere strictly to robust source control, design and code peer reviews, unit level and integration testing, and project methodology practices. Our solutions also employ advanced and innovative software techniques. You will have the opportunity to learn extensively from the other engineers on the team as well as make your own contributions to advance the state and capabilities of our solutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR FUNCTIONS [typically included, but is not limited to the following]:
? Comfortable working in a team environment and (at times) heavy multitasking and strong time management when multiple deliverables are being worked ? Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills ? Strong communications skills, both written and verbal ? Self-starter and motivated individual that requires little supervision to complete assigned tasks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / PERSONAL QUALITIES REQUIRED ? Expert C++/C programmers with strong debugging skills ? Experience with GPU driver ? Experience designing, developing, testing and deploying applications for Windows and variety of Linux distributions ? Experience with kernel mode code development, validation or debug Experience using testing automation tools ? Experience with SQL ? Experience with Linux scripting (Python, Bash, sed, etc.) ? Knowledge with build, test, and release with software applications, tools, and processes ? Test planning & development, i.e. validation lifecycle experience
