*** This position requires at a minimum "Interim Secret Clearance" prior to the start of work. *** Candidate must be a US citizen and either possess or be eligible for a DoD SECRET clearance. Network Technicians help install and support an organization's network and their computer systems. Responsible for local area networks (LAN), base area network (BAN) network segments, and intranet systems. Work in a variety of IT job environments, including professional offices, small businesses, government organizations, and large corporations. Help on a basic level to maintain systems hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor networks to ensure their availability to system users. Also help perform network back-ups and measure network performance. Normally work under direct supervision, typically reporting to a Level II Network Administrator.

Work Content
•Provide initial contact with customer to resolve trouble tickets. This includes after-hours support.
•Configure, test, implement, and optimize portions of local area network (LAN) and base area network (BAN), networks that enable and support business operations.
•Assist in the evaluation, testing, and recommendation of hardware, software, and network configurations based on customer-defined strategy.
•Design and implement strategies to migrate end-user devices and data.
•Systems administration of workstations and servers
•Support design, development, and implementation of operational support standards and procedures relating to change management, performance management, and security.
•Integrate third party vendor applications into the infrastructure and develop scripts for customization.
•Maintain and implement physical, operational, and information security practices and procedures.
•Check computer workstations for system and security vulnerabilities and use provided policies and procedures to eliminate them.
•Implement Government-provided tools and documentation for operational teams to manage the platform.
•Investigate, analyze, and recommend solutions to performance problems to optimize functionality, reliability, and/or usability.
•Analyze network structure to evaluate stability of connections.
•Analyze system service irregularities and disruptions and identify improvement/recommendations.
•Act as a liaison between the groups, suppliers, and other technical groups to resolve network outages.
